too tired for title

i be going to sleep soon, but first i'm gonna read some in my newest library borrow, Lost in the Forest, by Sue Miller. it was the only one from my list that i could find at my public library. lol. although i DID pick up two others, Blue Shoe, by Anne LaMott, whom i have grown QUITE attached to as an author (you should ALL read her; she is fantabulous), and On the Road, by Kerouac. NO, i've never read it. i'm hoping it's going to change my life like everyone says it changed theirs. well, no one i know personally, but i don't even know if any of my friends have read it, so who knows--maybe it WILL. ?? i could use a life change right about now.

speaking of life changes i wish i was having right now, earlier i was channel flipping when i saw that House Hunters was on HGTV. i started whimpering with unexpected joy, as i hadn't seen HGTV (my favorite channel next to HBO on demand) in MONTHS. so needless to say, i clicked on it, and LO AND BEHOLD it was freaking house hunting in FLORENCE! florence-freaking-ITALY. for the love of GOD, what is He (God) trying to DO to me?! SO not nice. He's all, hahaha, lookie here, it's Florence, Gayla, you know, Florence, Italy? the place you've been DYING to see since the summer before 9th GRADE? but haha, these people actually LIVE there and are buying a HOUSE with a view of the DUOMO and the something piazza! isn't that GREEEEAT?! He's snickering about this, i can feel it. whoever said God didn't have a sense of humor. or something. freudesomething? what's the name of that song from avenue Q that means you like to laugh at others' misfortune? schadenfreude? oh who the hell cares, you get what i'm sayin'.

did i mention i had to take a cold shower this morning? on the way to the doctor? had no choice, no cold water nowhere, buddy. it was a sad, sad day in the life o'gayla, mah friends. at least in the shower department. but i DID buy myself a diet cherry vanilla dr. pepper at CVS, along with some peanut butter, when i picked up my antibiotic for my possible bout with (don't dare utter the words) strep throat. (agh.) ok, the bed, he is a-callin'.

oh yeah. last night i watched first daughter with katie holmes (supercute) and today i watched raise your voice with hilary duff (because apparently i'm into the teenybopping cutesy movies, and MAN it was actually pretty good-WHA?) and the rest of season 5 of SATC (shed a tear for season six not starting till may. WTF?).

if anybody knows anybody in new york who may want to hire me, let me know. k great.
