warning: this page may take ages to load, as it contains many pictures.
it's midnight, and i should be going to bed, as i have to be at work at 7 am, but what am i doing? i am loading tons of pictures into my diary because i think it will make me feel better. because pictures always make everything better!
so here we go!!!
1st for the vanity, i'll just get that out of the way. because i always come first, and don't you forget it. heh. i'm kidding. sort of. ok anyway. i'm exhausted, so bear with me.
me in the bathroom mirror w/me camera.
me again.
i'm not sure, but i think i may be sling blade here.
typical.
TEXAS:
(family night--)
"brookie"
haley and sis
chase hamming it up as usual
sis-in-law and markus
Dad--with panties on his head that he gave to my mom for her b-day. he gave her a 3 pack of these "sexy" panties because the brand is called "Sofia," which is my madre's name. i especially like his hand motion and the star on his shirt, which is probably a woman's night shirt. of course he'd deny that.
markus loves to do gymnastics for his aunt (me). right now he's on the parallel bars, can't you tell?
markus and his white trash pacifier. classic. note to soverycherry: he was born on Halloween 2 years ago! =)
and NOW for the State Fair of Texas. Get excited. whee:
i was trying to capture the massive crowd from far away, but the pic turned out to blurry to see all the heads. oh well. it was a mass of people.
the Cotton Bowl. go Cowboys! or something.
the sign said to take your picture there, so i did. well, my dad took it, actually. it took about 10 minutes because he's not very "mechanical."
some pics of the "Texas Star" giant ferris wheel. i've never rode it, because it's so tall i think it would take an hour just to get all the cars loaded, then another hour to unload them. that's too long. plus it costs like 20 tickets, which is about 10 bucks. no thank you.
some swan and duck paddle boats. i wish i'd seen these sooner, because i would've rode one.
my parents in the dark. they're cute. no flash. bummer.
the official mascot: Big Tex himself!
Big Tex's cowboy boots.
the Chevy mainstage. here we saw a band called Beatlegrass perform. they play Beatles songs with bluegrass instruments. it was awesome.
K and P in front of the revered Food Pavillion. we spent a good part of our day here. i had: pizza, nachos w/texas-shaped tortilla chips, a funnel cake, a chopped beef BBQ sandwich, a fletcher's corny dog, black eyed peas and cornbread sticks...i'm sure there was more, but i can't remember it all. i love food!
the whole gang, sans me.
a giant pumpkin sculpted out of orange flowers. heh.
did i tell you about the Curious George exhibit? well they HAD ONE! it was a dream come true. i had to convince the guy to let me into the museum, because it was closed, but i prevailed, and here is the proof:
matt lauer signed the yellow hat. i'm not sure why, but he did, and now it's in the traveling curious george exhibit.
original drawing from Curious George Rides a Bike
this drawing goes with these words:
they say (if it's too small): "Whiteblack the penguin has a serious talk with his friends Polarbear and Seal: he wants to leave Penguinland, to see the world and all those wonderful things he heard so much about. Finally his friends agree: Whiteblack is young and must travel."
How great is that?
airplane view
the wing of the plane
caught them a bit off guard.
it doesn't look like much here, but it was magnificent.
if you're still reading at this point, i seriously thank and applaud you. thank you! wow do i need to get to sleep! ok, hope you enjoyed my texas travel pictorial diary. yay and good night.
