what happens when i'm bored & stuck in an enclosed space at work

@10:00 am

it is incredibly gloomy outside. i was half an hour late this morning because 1) i left later than intended (what else is new?), 2) i drove in, and the traffic was way worse than it'd be on a clear, sunny day, and 3) of all the stupid moves to make, i decided to turn onto Park Avenue and ended up stuck at the part that wraps around the Met Life tower. bad move doofus. ah well, such is life. my boss is usually 10-15 minutes late, anyway, and she's super nice. i really couldn't ask for someone more easygoing.

also, i'm wearing my red patent leather shoes today. yay. they are too dadgum cute, and i get them for like $15 at Burlington. i love shoes. guess what! the witty and fabulous dcdemocrat is coming to visit, and she and K and i are going to hit Chinatown. a much needed/overdue trip. my fake Prada bag is really about to hit rock bottom (5 years old), and a year ago i got a fake Louis Vuitton, but well, i wear black nearly ALL the time, so I need a new fake black bag. and i wouldn't mind getting some fun, dangly earrings or some beaded necklaces. and maybe the newest shoes--those flats with multi-colored sequins and beads! SPARKLY! (i like shiny things. especially make-up. all eyeshadows should have shimmer or sparkle.)

it's a little dark in this file room. and the fluorescent lights are making me (more) sleepy (than i already am).

good news:

1) i bought a plane ticket to Dallas for rob's wedding next month.

2) i'm gonna be there for 8 days, which means i get to go to schlitterbahn for 2 days!

3) i'm going to meet up in san marcos with my "little sis" from my sorority, who(m) i haven't seen in 3 years, and who is one of the sweetest people in existence.

4) San Marcos = biggest outlet mall west of the Mississippi. (or something.)

5) 3 months without El Fenix is about my limit (saru-san: El Fenix? if you've still not heeded my (highly qualified) tex-mex advice, i beseech ye--please go there. just one more thing to endear Dallas to you. ha.)

6) even though i'll be going dateless to the wedding, i'm gonna look good in my hot dress, and there's another NYC girl who's friends with the bride, so maybe she'll be there, too (also dateless?).

7) i'm SO going to sleep early tonight, AND it's the season finale of LOST, the best show of the season (i've not seen 24, so don't be offended if you think IT'S the best, k?).

--LATER-- @4:10 pm

i just spent about 60 seconds bouncing up and down on my desk chair in the file room. everytime i sit down on it, it gives a nice little bounce, so finally i decided to bounce WITH it, and it is VERY bouncy (like one of those inflated rubber balls you sit on with the handle). quite a lot of fun there with the bouncing chair. whee. you may wonder why i'm writing about this. it's OK: i wonder, too.

for some reason, i've felt sick on and off all day. i was filing the Ws when i felt suddenly faint, so i sat down and took off my jacket and put my head on my desk. i feel hot again right now, but in about 10 minutes i'll probably be shivering again. this may not be a good sign. my dad thinks i need to get my tonsils out. i think i might rather eat a can of hominy, but i'm not sure. the two acts are quite comparable.

i'm staying till 5:30 today since i was late. also, friday is a half day, so that's another 3 hours i'm not getting paid for. i am praying they'll need me to stay longer than the end of the week. i really like it here. zero stress (i'm REALLY good at alphabatizing and at excel), close to the express train, friendly people, a nice pantry with coffee, tea, hot cocoa, ice machine, and vending machines (though it irks me that they have styrofoam cups--personal problem), and i get to be alone most of the day.

--NOW--7:45 pm

wuzzuh? it is absolutely disGUSTing outside right now. i know: i'm on the 16th floor surrounded by huge windows, and the clouds are right there, in all their quick-movin' grayness. is it just me, or am i REALLY getting pissed about this weather. it is nearly JUNE, mother nature. COME ON. geez.

it took me nearly an hour to get from work to here, (i'm dogsitting again, remember?) approximately 20 blocks. good times driving in manhattan. you know you're going slow(ly) when the guy pulling his hot dog stand down the street with his HANDS has passed you and is nearly a block ahead of you. ah well. oh YEAH, AND i left my hanging clothes for the rest of the week hanging up. in my apartment. 'cause i'm a retard. geez. ah well. t minus 10 minutes to showtime, people. I LOVE THIS SHOW!
