I Went to the VMAs Red Carpet and Saw Them UP CLOSE!

I know, I know, it's been...4 days since it happened, but things have been going on in other parts of my life, and i haven't had time to write it all down!

GREAT!

so on Seatfillers.com i applied to go to the Red Carpet for the VMAs, and they picked me. (and my roommate of course.) so thursday we got all spruced up (or we "spruced our gooses" as she would put it) and headed into the city. i'll have you know that my mini-skirt and heels and kristen's low-cut dress drew QUITE a bit of attention considering we were walking to the train at 2:30 pm dressed in semi-club attire. ha. it was an experience. so we make it to the subway, and she walks in front of me down the stairs to the platform so no one sees up my skirt. anyway, we finally got to rockefeller and went to grab a bite to eat before we had to check-in. so they had all these rules and regulations we were supposed to follow--no purses bigger than 8"x6", no cameras, no jeans of any kind, etc. we got there and they said, "do you have your confirmation letter?" i said, "yeah." and held it up to show them. "do you have your picture ids?" "yeah." we held them up, respectively. "do you have a camera?" "no." okay, go on. so the next guy gave us wristbands and we joined the rest of the group, quickly deciding we were the oldest people there. and of course everyone had giant bags and jeans on. which was also funny. i guess MTV really is for the younguns these days, and i admit i don't really watch it anymore. but frankly the thought of possibly seeing J-LO up close and personal really DID seem interesting. too bad Bennifer and J Fleck didn't show.

But Christina Aguilera did. she looked rather modest. she was clothed, i mean. the most exciting person we saw was Justin Timberlake, and I'm not sure why it was so exciting. he looked the same and everything. Kelly Rowland from Destiny's Child looked absolutely NOTHING like she does on t.v. Avril Lavigne is a stick. we're talking 0% body fat. The lead guy from Coldplay really should shave. Kelly Clarkson was friendly as one would expect. Pamela Anderson was not (though she is way prettier in person that she is in pictures, not to mention TINY), and neither was Jessica Simpson, though she looked kinda classy AND classic Texan. who else? the snoop dog thing w/his girls on leashes was pretty hysterical. 50 Cent had like a 40 man entourage. Good Charlotte have proven to be not only annoying and relatively talent-less but also rather ugly. perhaps the most interesting and surprising thing of the night was Kelly Osbourne. first of all, she is NOT fat. she is totally normal looking. And her face was pretty. she was totally a cute girl, and she was really friendly with the crowd. so there ya go.

must profess my profuse disappointment in the following no-shows (at least to the red carpet): Britney, JC from N Sync (hot), Madonna, J-Lo, and Pink. would really have liked to see them. poo.

Yay for gawking at famous people!
